A Bit About Me

I figured out my calling, and now I’m committed to helping others make a difference in their business and professional lives.

I moved to the United States with my family when I was 12 years old. I am a first-generation college graduate. I am also not new to entrepreneurship. Since I was very young, I had great examples of entrepreneurship with my parents; watching my mother designing, sewing and creating styles to sale to our neighbors. In the same manner, my father is the best car mechanic I have ever known. Through buying, fixing and reselling cars for profit, my father created a reputation for being honest, hard working and an entrepreneur with magic hands.

I have worked for some of the major companies in the world, companies like Walmart, Dollar General, First Union Bank, now part of the Wells Fargo group to name a few. I have held many roles in the areas of finance, accounting, tax and IT. But the most important role I held was as leader of people. I love developing and empowering people to be their very best selves.

I am a strong advocate for diversity and minority development. I work with nonprofit organizations and teach members new skills and also teach them about the importance of having a seat at "the table." I also work with community leaders in developing strategies that create impact in our community. Personally, I am currently a member, along with my wonderful son, of the National Young Men Service League, where we volunteer in our community with many nonprofit organizations to drive change. I believe in being part of the solution, being part of our communities and building strong organizations with capable, and courageous leaders.

I am a Middle Tennessee State University alumni (Go Blue Raiders!) with a Master of Science degree, double major in Accounting and Information Systems. In addition, I received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Florida International University (Go Panthers!) with a double major in Finance and International Business. (need to be fair to both my alma maters here!) I have also received recognitions from leaders on my strategy methods and leadership development techniques.

Let’s pinwheel together!!!
