Adriana is a global executive, with a proven record of expertise in strategy development, financial reporting and compliance, talent acquisition and development, change management, business process transformation, tax, and financial systems implementations.
Adriana has worked for the Fortune One company, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., for 13 years in different capacities. She served in the Global Corporate Controllership as Senior Director of Global Subsidiary Controllership where she led, designed and established the controllership teams to support over 1,000 subsidiaries in 65 countries. Adriana also provided accounting advise on Walmart’s future and current multi billion global business initiatives in different sectors of the company, such as, e-commerce, sourcing, retail operations and others.
Adriana joined Walmart as Director of Property Tax where she brought her expertise in financial reporting, process optimization, tax and accounting and delivered over 200 million dollars to Walmart’s P&L in her first two years. After two years, Adriana was promoted to lead the company’s Global Income Tax Compliance teams, comprising of federal, state, tax credits & incentives and international tax teams. In addition, she served in various roles in the company from tax to system financial transformations to accounting roles.
Prior to Walmart, Adriana served in various finance, tax and accounting roles for companies like Dollar General Corp., Shoney’s Inc., former First Union Bank and former Eastern Airlines. At Dollar General, Adriana established and implemented the company’s food stamp program in all retail locations.
Adriana is a strong advocate for diversity and minority development. She co-founded the first Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) chapter in Arkansas where she worked both as Vice President of Membership, contributing to bringing about 1,000 members in the first two years and as Chief Administrative Officer, working with the community and local colleges, bringing development, inclusion and growth to its members.
Adriana has Masters of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University with a double major in Accounting and Information Systems. In addition Adriana received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Florida International University with a double major in Finance and International Business.
